Celio da Silveira
Certified Alexander Technique Teacher
AmSAT (American Society for the Alexander Technique)
Graduate of ATI-LA (Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles)
Celio discovered the Alexander Technique in Brazil in 1987. Eighteen years of practicing the art of Judo, plus study of classical and modern dance had prepared him to go deeper into the study of movement. He realized the importance of psycho-physical connection (body-mind unity) and attention to “inner space”. This shifted his awareness and took him on a journey within where he realized everything in his life could be accomplished with much less effort. The discoveries in the Technique opened a new chapter in his life, filled with possibilities, including a more powerful singing voice and greater ease in playing guitar. He sees this detailed study of human development as a life-long journey, continuing to bring unconscious habits to a conscious level.
Celio has been working both with individuals and in groups. He has been working as an assistant instructor in the department of dramatic arts at USC since 2005. He has taught the Alexander Technique at Cal-Arts Intersession for musicians for the last four years.
Celio loves teaching the Alexander Technique to help others discover the many choices open to us that bring unimaginable ease and expansion. |
